Synshorn Via Ferrata

The iron steps of the Via Ferrata make the steep, vertical mountain walls – 1,500 metres above sea level – accessible to anyone in reasonably good shape.
The name Via Ferrata comes from Italy, where "iron paths" were built into the mountains during World War I. These routes later became part of the alpine hiking network, making it easier to reach the peaks.
Today’s Via Ferrata is a modern, secured climbing route with fixed safety features like steel cables and iron rungs. This means you don’t need any climbing experience to scale what would otherwise be a nearly vertical cliff face.
