At Beitostølen, stepping out for a run or bike ride is as simple as opening your front door, whether on asphalt, gravel, or through the terrain.

A short drive to Valdresflya, our closest mountain area and gateway to views of Jotunheimen national park offers many opportunities both in winter and summer. In summer, there is a variety of mountains of different difficulty levels where you can hike up the mountain. You can read more about some of the mountains close to Beitostølen here. Additionally, there is a cycling route that starts at Garli (5 minute drive from Beitostølen) laid with planks on certain areas to get a smooth bike ride over the mountains and back to the center of Beitostølen.

In the winter season, there is a long and beautiful ski trail in the heart of Valdresflya, as well as numerous mountain peaks for summit trips for the more experienced. If you plan to travel to Valdresflya, it is advisable to check in advance if it is open, as it is closed during certain periods. In Norway we have something called "Fjellvettreglene" or The Norwegian Mountain code. Before going on any trip in the Norwegian mountains, it is seen as a norm to know and follow these rules for your own safety (link to fjellvettreglene)

And here's a little secret: the stadium is also a prime spot for biathlon training, a famous sport in Norway that combines cross-country skiing with rifle shooting. During the summer there are opportunities for playing frisbee golf as well as a dedicated roller ski track, another sport for anyone who cannot wait until winter to try out cross-country skiing.
